Latest In Beauty Build Your Own Beauty Box April 2017

Hello everyone and welcome back. I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weather we have in the U.K. at the moment! Today I am sharing with you my selection of goodies I chose for my build your own beauty box from Latest In Beauty.

Latest In Beauty let’s you build your own customised beauty box every month so you are in control of what you get. Gone are the days of disappointing products that you end up giving away! I personally have the 6 product box that costs £15 but you can also get a 3 products for £9 or 9 products for £18. You don’t get a pretty box but to be honest, I find the packaging of standard boxes a bit wasteful. Enough rambling, let’s get into the products.

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist 15ml

Jurlique rosewater balancing mist

I’ve never tried anything from Jurlique before and this is a product I’ve heard lots of good things about. I’m not the biggest fan of rose scented products but this doesn’t smell synthetic. I use this on days where I wear BB cream and powder foundation as a final step to stop my skin looking so powdery. It is nice but I can’t see me buying the full size as it costs around £28!

Eucerin Intensive Lip Balm 10ml (full size)

Eucerin intensive lip balm

You all know how much I love lip balms. This is not too thick but it does last a decent amount of time. It does a good job of moisturising the lips and is one that I would probably buy again.

Nanshy Kabuki Brush

Nanshy kabuki brush

I chose this as I wanted a new brush to use for powder foundation and I really like it! It’s dense enough to pack on coverage but it’s also super soft and blends in the powder really easily. Very impressed with this.

Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer 30ml

Bumble and bumble hairdressers invisible oil

Never tried anything from this brand before, this product is a heat protectant that tames frizz and also adds UV protection. I’ve not tried it out yet but it smells really good and I’m looking forward to seeing what it can do for my wild hair!

Nails Inc White Horse Street 14ml (full size)

Nails inc White horse street

This is a really interesting colour, it’s an off white that looks a bit grey but also a bit lavender. It goes on really well and you get full opaque colour in 2 coats, I do find that lighter colours can take more than 2 coats to get opaque colour but not with this one.

The White Company Seychelles Hand Cream

The white company Seychelles hand cream

Ok, so I did not need more hand cream but I’ve not tried anything from The White Company before so I thought I would give it a go. And I am so glad I did! This smells incredible! It’s like being on a sunny beach holiday and it’s not sickly or overly sweet. I can’t describe scents at all but if you get a chance to smell this, do it! Will be buying this in full size and more from the range.

That’s all my products for this month. I love all of them and can see myself repurchasing most of them when they run out. I also got 2 perfume samples to try out, one of them isn’t for me but who doesn’t love perfume samples?? Take care and I’ll be back next week ❤

March 2017 Favourites

Hello everyone I hope you’re all well. Today I am sharing with you the products that I have been using pretty much everyday over the past few months and I love. Let’s get started with skincare –

Pixi Glow Tonic

Pixi Glow Tonic

I have a full review on this product which I will link at the end of this post but this product has become a staple in my skincare routine. It has helped to reduce scarring from acne and any new breakouts I get heal much quicker. It’s a great price in comparison to other acid toners and a bottle lasts so long! I bought this in January and I’ve only used around a third of a bottle.

No7 Protect and Perfect Intense Advanced Serum

No7 protect perfect intense serum

I remember using this serum years ago when it first released and I can remember it feeling nice but I didn’t know what it was supposed to do! Now I’m older and understand skincare I know what the benefits of a serum are! This product is silicone based which is why it has that lovely velvety feel to it and it’s supposed to reduce the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles. I’ve been using it around 2/3 weeks morning and evening and whilst it’s too early to notice a difference in the skin, it’s a nice serum to use and makes my skin feel good, doesn’t irritate it at all which is a huge bonus. I will keep you updated on the more long term effects of this but I am liking it so far.

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Levres Barrier Repairing Balm

La Roche Posay cicaplast

I have found the best lip balm for my lips! This balm is incredible. It’s quite thick but it’s not gloopy and sticky. When you apply it, it feels quite soothing and I find it really does repair the skin on my lips. It’s not scented or flavoured but I prefer balms that are plain but effective. I have a tube on my desk, one in my bag and one on my makeup table, I love it that much!

L’Oréal False Lash Sculpt Mascara

L'Oréal False Lash Sculpt mascara

At first, I didn’t like this mascara at all. It clumped up so much whenever I applied it and I always had to get a clean mascara brush to brush my lashes out and separate them. However, once the formula had dried out a bit, it completely transformed. This adds a huge amount of volume and makes my lashes look huge. I personally prefer lots of volume (some may say it’s too clumpy) and this mascara gives it. The wand takes a little getting used to as it only has bristles on one side but I really like it.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner – Trooper

Kat Von d tattoo liner

I’m not sure if I have featured this before but I love this liner. It’s so quick and easy to use, I prefer pen liners but the difference with this one is that it has the format of a pen but the nib is a brush which adds more precision than the felt nibs can. It doesn’t smudge and lasts all day.

Lily Lolo Translucent Silk Setting Powder

Lily Lolo translucent silk powder

Lily Lolo is a recently discovered brand for me. This is a little sample pot I bought of their website that cost £1 but is lasting so long. This powder is very silky and smooth, and contains a small amount of light reflecting properties. I have been using this every day to set my under eye concealer and it subtly brightens the area without making it look overly highlighted.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick – Backtalk

Urban decay Vice lipstick backtalk

Can you believe I’ve only just bought a Vice lipstick! As you know I’ve had a liquid lipstick phase but now we are in spring, I’m not enjoying the super matte lip as much. Backtalk is one of the Comfort Matte shades and it really is comfortable. When you apply it’s very creamy and forgiving if you have any lines. It’s very highly pigmented and lasts a good 4-6 hours with one application. This has really surpassed my expectations of a standard (not liquid) lipstick formula and I will be buying more.

Tigi Bed Head Blow-Out Golden Illuminating Shine Cream

Tigi bed head blow out cream

I have wild hair that is very difficult to tame but this product does help it. I use it as a finishing cream to help smooth down my flyaways and to add extra shine. I’m not going to lie, my favourite thing about this product is the scent, I don’t know how to describe it but it’s divine!

Vita Liberata Self Tanning Gradual Lotion

Vita Liberata self tan gradual lotion

This product is much darker than you’re run of the mill gradual tan and I can use this once and it looks like I’ve had a week in Spain! It’s very moisturising, doesn’t cling to your drier patches and it doesn’t fade weird like fake tan does. Unfortunately, it does smell like fake tan when it’s developing but it’s not the strongest that I’ve used so I can see past that. Will be buying the full size of this when I run out.

Viktor & Rolf Bon Bon

Viktor and rolf Bon Bon

My current favourite perfume is this beauty from Viktor & Rolf. Most people know this brand for Flowerbomb which I also own and love but Bon Bon is the more muskier sister that I don’t think gets the love it deserves. If you get a chance to try it in a store, give it a go. Plus, the bottle is stunning!

Lastly, I wanted to give a mention to a podcast I have been binge listening to for the past month which is The Emma Guns Show. This is a beauty podcast and Emma interviews big names in the industry and I have learnt so much by tuning in. I find it quite relaxing and it makes my evening commute a lot less tense!

That’s all for this week guys. As always, thanks for reading, take care and I’ll be back next week ❤

Pixi Glow Tonic Review

Hello everyone! I have been mentioning an exfoliating toner that I have been trying out in my last few posts and today I can reveal that it has been the Pixi Glow Tonic. I bought this towards the end of January and have been using it for around 8 weeks so I feel like I can now give you my full review.

Pixi Glow Tonic is an exfoliating AHA toner which contains 5% glycolic acid. Unlike some other AHA toners, this contains no alcohol at all which is great but even better, it contains a high amount of aloe vera which we all know has great properties so help soothe the skin. The most widely available size is a 250ml bottle which retails for £18.00 and is available from (that’s where I bought mine) and it’s also available directly from Pixi and QVC.

Pixi Glow Tonic

The packaging is very simple but also quite striking, you can spot this out anywhere due to the orange bottle with mint green lid and label. My personal fault with the packaging is that it has a lid you have to screw on and off whereas I think it would have been better to have a flip top.

The reason I wanted to try this product is because I had tried Alpha H Liquid Gold and loved it, but I didn’t love the price of it (£46.95 for 200ml) I’d also seen massive amounts of hype over the product and after comparing the Glow Tonic to Liquid Gold, I could see that the amount of glycolic acid was the same in both products but Liquid Gold contains a high amount of alcohol so Glow Tonic won on price and ingredients.

When you first start using an AHA exfoliating toner, you do notice a tingling sensation on the skin. It’s not unbearable but if it’s something you’ve not encountered before, it can be a bit alarming especially if you’re not expecting it. Once your skin has built up a bit of tolerance, it’s not noticeable and can be a little satisfying as you can actually feel the product doing something. You apply this product by dispensing a small amount onto a cotton pad and swiping it over a freshly cleansed, dry face. Once it has settled, follow up with the rest of your skincare routine.

Pixi Glow Tonic

I have been using this product for around 8 weeks now and whilst I haven’t noticed any drastic improvement in my skin, I have noticed that any spots that I get clear up faster and the scarring clears up much, much quicker. When I first started using it, of had a really stubborn scar on my chin for a month which would not go away. After around a week of nightly usage, the scar had finally gone!

Since using this product, I have completely stopped using manual exfoliants (scrubs with particles) and I can’t really see myself going back to them as I find I am getting much better results using a chemical exfoliant. I have only used around a third of the bottle so it last longer than I expected it to and I can definitely say that this is a product I will continue to repurchase and it lives up to the hype!

What are your thought on this product? Let me know in the comments. Take care and I’ll be back next week ❤

Oskia Renaissance Mask Review

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well. Today I have my review of the very popular Renaissance Mask by Oskia.

Oskia Renaissance Mask

I only have the small 12ml sample sizes but I have been trying it out for a few months now and if you can get your hands on the sample size pots, I do recommend them as you can get well over 5 uses out of them. This mask is available on and and retails for £49.50 for a 50ml pot.

Oskia claim that this mask “…Designed to increase cell turnover, boost radiance and packed with OSKIA’s trademark blend of beauty boosting nutrients, this luxuriously-textured exfoliating mask leaves the complexion smoother, more refined and illuminated…”

The mask itself is a pale peachy pink thick gel and has is rose scented. I’m not a big fan of rose but in this product, it’s a natural rose scent that does not smell synthetic at all and I actually quite like it.

Oskia Renaissance Mask

You apply this mask to dry, freshly cleansed skin. I scoop out a grape sized amount using a cotton bud and then apply it evenly over my face using my fingers, the consistency of this mask isn’t really suited to a brush in my opinion. You then massage the mask into the skin and it transforms from a pink translucent gel into a solid white colour which shows that the ingredients have been fully activated. At this point you may feel a slight tingling due to the lactic acid and fruit acids, I don’t personally notice this any more but that is due to me using exfoliating toners quite regularly so my skin has built up a tolerance.

I leave this mask on for the full 20 minutes directed, if you’re new to using it, have not used exfoliating products previously or have particularly sensitive skin, only use this for 10 minutes until your skin has become used to the product. When it’s ready to come off, apply a little water to your hands and massage your face again and it will turn into a milk which you can then easily remove with water and your fingers.

Oskia Renaissance Mask

Immediately after use, my skin does feel very soft and it can look a little red so I only use this at night before bed and follow up with serum and moisturiser. I notice the difference in my skin the next morning. It looks brighter, acne scarring appears reduced and I can comfortably skip foundation and opt for a BB cream with a little mineral powder foundation where I need a bit more coverage.

Overall I am quite torn with this product, I use it once a week and whilst it does have a great effect on my skin, the effect does not last throughout the week and the price for the full size is a little off putting. Also, the shelf life is only 3 months which really isn’t that long for a skincare product. I do get a similar effect with the glycolic toner I am using (review coming soon!) but the toner isn’t as luxurious and pampering. I will continue to get the little sample pots when I see them available but I still don’t know whether I can commit to the full size.

What are your thoughts on this product? Let me know in the comments. Take care and I’ll be back next week ❤

Latest In Beauty Build Your Own Beauty Box March 2017

Hello everyone and welcome back! This week I am sharing with you my selection of products that I chose from Latest In Beauty.

Latest In Beauty march 2017

For those of you who have not heard of this brand, Latest In Beauty has a number of pre made boxes to purchase each month but they also have an option to build your own box which is what I opt for. It’s a rolling subsription and you have the option to have 3, 6 or 9 products a month. I have a 6 product subscription which costs £15.00 a month and is available from now let’s get into my selection for this month.

Oskia Renaissance Mask 12ml

Oskia renaissance mask

I really enjoy this mask but I can’t part with almost £50.00 for the full size! It’s a resurfacing mask which contains lactic acid and a number of fruit enzymes to get rid of dull skin. It smells of rose which I normally don’t like but it’s quite a delicate fragrance and not over powering.

NUXE Prodigieux Precious Scented Shower Oil 30ml

Nuxe Prodigieux shower oil

If you love the Prodigieux oil from NUXE then you will love this product. It smells incredible and feels like a lovely papering product to use in the shower. It comes out more of a gel than an oil and it does lather up a little but not as much as a standard shower gel. Will be buying the full size of this when I run out.

Vita Liberata Self Tanning Gradual Lotion 50ml

Vita Liberata gradual self tan

I chose this as I like to use a bit of self tan but I don’t like the hassle of normal self tan. This is lovely and smooth to apply, sinks in very quickly and gives great moisturisation. Vita Liberata state that this has no odour which is completely false! It does smell after a few hours, it’s not super intense but it does smell. The thing that surprised me the most was the amount of colour I got from one application, it actually looks like I’ve done a proper self tan. Another product I’ll be buying when I run out!

Moroccanoil Hair Treatment 25ml

Moroccanoil hair treatment

My hairdresser keeps drilling into me to use oils on my hair and not serums so I thought I would give this one a go! I’ve only used it once so can’t really comment on how effective it is but it smells really good! It’s quite a thick oil in comparison to others I’ve used so you’ll need to use it sparingly but it’ll make this product last a while.

The Vintage Cosmetics Company Duo Pencil Sharpener

Vintage cosmetics company sharpener

Lastly we have a bit of a boring product but we all need one! My sharpener has seen better days so I added this into my box. The little cover makes this look quite cheap so I might get rid of that. Not tried it out yet as I wanted it to look good for pictures!

You’ve probably noticed that’s only 5 products, I did add an Elemis Facial Scrub but when it arrived, I saw that it was for men so I have passed that onto my fiancé. I also received 3 sample sachets from the brand Gazelli with a £5 discount code.

That’s everything for this post, Build Your Own boxes aren’t as exciting as a normal box when you have a random selection of products but what sold it to me was that you know what you’re getting. I was getting boxes and only ended up using 1 product so I saw it as a waste of money. What are your thoughts on beauty boxes? Let me know in the comments! Take care and I’ll be back next week ❤

February 2017 Empties

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well. Apologies for the lack of posts recently. I’ve been feeling somewhat uninspired and when I have gone to write a post, my heart has not been in it so the content in my opinion was not worth posting. I’m out of the my little funk now so thought I would kick start by getting rid of my empties that I have gone through in January / February. As always, I’ll give a mini review and whether I’ll repurchase or not. Let’s get started!

January 2017 empties

Alpha H Liquid Gold

I had wanted to try this for so long and was so happy to get this in a beauty box! It’s awesome, it helps clear up scarring left from acne and makes the skin look so fresh. I over used this when I first got it as I was dispensing the same amount as I would a micellar water, you really don’t need that much! Really recommend this.

Repurchase? Yes (but currently testing a similar product)

Naobay Calming Face Toner

I didn’t notice any difference with this toner at all. It didn’t calm the skin and just seemed a waste of time.

Repurchase? No

La Roche-Posay Serozinc

I’m not sure how I felt about this as I didn’t use it consistently. It’s quite refreshing but I didn’t notice any difference in my skin.

Repurchase? No

January 2017 empties

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Fluide

This is my favourite moisturiser ever. It’s pretty basic but it is effective. It’s not irritating and sits beautifully under makeup.

Repurchase? Yes

Renu Lip & Eye Active Lift

If you’re a regular reader you’ll know that I don’t really rate eye creams as I don’t see a difference. This one was nice to apply and hydrated the under eyes but there wasn’t any change in my fine lines.

Repurchase? No

REN Wake Wonderful Night Time Facial

This is a glycolic acid overnight treatment which works in a similar way to the Alpha H Liquid Gold. I loved how my skin looked the next day after using this but the effect is very similar to a glycolic acid toner so not sure now whether I’d buy the full size now.

Repurchase? Maybe

The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask

This product changed my attitude to face masks! It’s amazing, it really helps clear the skin if you have acne prone skin. If you have very sensitive skin I’d get a sample to try out before buying the full size as it’s quite intense but this is the only face mask I’ve used that makes a difference on my acne.

Repurchase? Yes

Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask

This is the first winter where I’ve actually had dry skin on my face. I normally have super oily skin but it’s changed slightly and is more combination. Anyway, as I’ve been getting dry skin on my forehead and nose, I thought I’d give this a go. It’s a pain to apply but it’s very moisturising and gets rid of the uncomfortable tight skin on my forehead. And they’re super cheap.

Repurchase? Yes

Skin Republic CoQ10 Caviar Sheet Mask

This mask is pretty much the same as the Garnier one above. It works in exactly the same way, even smells similar. Don’t bother with this one, save some money and get the Garnier one.

Repurchase? No

Bee Good Vanilla & Honey Lip Balm

I loved this so much I repurchased when I ran out but I found that it was actually drying my lips out more than when I wasn’t using it. I’m sure I’ve had this in a favourites previously but this isn’t something I’ll be using again.

Repurchase? No

January 2017 empties

Lanolips Golden Ointment

I used this as a lip balm before I went to bed and it lasted me over a year. It’s a very thick product that makes a barrier over the skin and helps repair it. I’m not sure whether this is even sold anymore but if it, it’s very effective on dry lips.

Repurchase? Yes

Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra

Hands down my favourite foundation. I can use this all year round, it’s got great coverage and lasts all day. It’s similar to Estée Lauder Double Wear but it’s not as heavy and I find that it doesn’t crack in expression lines.

Repurchase? Yes

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

For me, the hype around this product is for a good reason. I prefer pen style liners and this is perfect as it has the practicality of a pen but it has the precision of a brush as the tip is a hair tip. It’s super black and lasts all day.

Repurchase? Yes

GHD Straight & Smooth Spray

This has been a favourite of mine for many years. It keeps my hair straight once it’s been styled with my straighteners and keeps frizz at bay. I have been trying to find this online to get a new one but can’t find it! I think GHD are doing a bit of a rebrand of their products so maybe they’ve changed the name? I need to email them!

Repurchase? Yes

January 2017 empties

Aussie Miracle Hairspray

Didn’t like this hairspray really, it didn’t hold my hair at all and the nozzle clogged up really quickly.

Repurchase? No

The Body Shop Satsuma Shower Gel

This is my favourite fruity fragrance from the Body Shop. It’s something I have used for years and will continue to in the summer.

Repurchase? Yes

Seche Vite Top Coat

If you want a top coat that dries extremely quickly and adds a gel like shine, this is the top coat for you. Unfortunately it gets thick and gloopy when you get around a third of the way down to bottle and it becomes impossible to work with.

Repurchase? Yes

So there are all the products I’ve used up in the last few months. I didn’t realise how skincare heavy it was going to be but when I think about it, skincare is the thing I buy the most as I am on a quest for good skin! Thanks for reading, take care and I’ll be back next week ❤

Tili 3rd Edition Unboxing

Hello everyone! Finally, after waiting patiently, we have the 3rd edition of the Tili box!

Tili 3rd edition box

This quarter’s box contains 10 items, a mixture of full and sample size items for £20 with free postage and packaging. The outer box is a beautiful mint green with turquoise detailing which is very spring like. Let’s get into the products!

Elemis Gentle Foaming Facial Wash (30ml)

Elemis gentle foaming facial wash

Elemis is a brand I love to receive samples of and everything I’ve tried I’ve always enjoyed, but they are quite pricey. I’ve not tried this yet but it smells lovely and fresh.

Pixi Glow Tonic (15ml)

Pixi glow tonic

I bought the full size of this product a week ago and I’m currently testing it out and will be writing a full review soon so keep your eyes out for that! This is a cute little sample though and is big enough to get a feel for the product before buying the full size.

Decléor Aromessence Mandarine Smoothing Oil Serum (5ml)

Decleor smoothing oil serum

I was a little put off by the size of this sample but a little really does go a long way. It smells beautiful, like fresh oranges and the texture is similar to a dry oil. Sinks into the skin very quickly and doesn’t leave a tacky residue. Looking forward to trying this out more.

This Works In Transit Camera Close Up (20ml)

This works in transit camera close up

I’ve received this product in a box before and unfortunately it’s not my favourite. I think this is more geared to people with normal to dry skin as it makes my skin oily quicker than if I don’t use it.

Mally Shadow Stick Extra – Moonlight (Full Size)

Mally shadow stick extra moonlight

I’ve been wanting to try a shadow stick for a long time but I’ve never got round to buying one so really happy to get this. The colour moonlight is a beautiful champagne that I intend to use as a day to day all over lid colour. I have used it twice so far and it’s very pigmented and blends out easily. The colour stays on a decent amount of time and doesn’t crease.

Doll 10 Lip Velvet – Material Girl (Full Size)

Doll 10 lip velvet material girl

This product is beautiful, very similar to Bourjois Lip Velvets as you all know that I love. This is a matte liquid lipstick but it doesn’t dry down fully so doesn’t accentuate any fine lines or feel uncomfortable. It transfers easily so don’t expect this to last in the same way as a liquid lip but the colour stays on your lips even after eating and drinking.

Australian Bodycare Tea Tree Oil Skin Wash (50ml)

Australian bodycare tea tree skin wash

I think that this will be a great body wash for those who have acne on the body. It’s got a very strong tea tree scent so if you don’t like that, you won’t like this product. It claims to be an antiseptic wash which also combats odour causing bacteria.

Molton Brown Dewy Lily of the Valley & Star Anise Shower Gel (50ml)

Molton Brown lily of the valley star anise gel

Molton Brown is one of those brands that I always associate with luxury pampering. Scent wise it’s very floral which I didn’t think I’d like but I actuallly do! And the bottle is very cute.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer (40ml)

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer

Another product I’ve received in a beauty box but not in this scent. Coconut breeze is a beautiful scent that just reminds me of holidays in the sun. This is a pre shampoo treatment that helps nourish and repair the hair. Will be trying this out later this evening and see what it does.

Essie Nail Polish – Mint Candy Apple (full size)

Essie mint candy apple

Essie are starting to overtake OPI as my favourite nail polish brand, I find that Essie polishes don’t chip on me as quickly as OPI. Mint Candy Apple is the perfect shade for spring and it also matches the outer box colour!

So there is everything you get in the 3rd edition of the Tili box. I think that is is fantastic value for money. As always, the box is very well curated and contains a wide variety of products. My only suggestion would have been to skip one of the shower gels and put a lotion in instead. If you are interested in purchasing, head over to

Thanks for reading guys, apologies if the post seems a little rushed, I have a chest infection (again!) and I am not feeling fresh! Take care and I’ll be back next week ❤
